Every year our chruch sponsors a great missions-focused project for our community called the Christmas Store. It's a volunteer staffed, donation driven Christmas ministry hosted inside our church December 14-15 that provides families with gifts and other much needed items. Not only do we help the people of our community with material needs through the Christmas Store, we also share the gospel and love of Christ with each person that comes through the door. Over the past years, we've literally seen thousands be blessed by this incredible ministry.
Christmas Store is a great opportunity for you to serve not only your church but your community as well. We are challenging every single student in our ministry to either make a stocking stuffer bag individually or to make this a project for your small group. Bags can be turned in to our staff in the gym on Sunday mornings November 22-December 6. Below is a list of suggested items for your stocking stuffer bags.
All items should be placed in gallon-sized ziploc bags
Small games
Socks
Costume jewelry
Shaving items for older kids
Sample sized toiletries
School supplies - pencils, etc.
$5 gift cards to McDonalds, Sonic, etc.
Lip gloss or chapstick
Small Christmas ornaments (especially for girls)
Gum but no other candy
No CD's
Use your imagination and creativity and be a blessing to a family in need this Christmas.
Reach, Grow, Serve
These are new ministry teams designed to provide you with a place to plug in and own your student ministry! Reach teams will focus on connecting new students to Christ and our ministry, grow teams will focus on discipling/mentor opportunities for students within our ministry and serve teams will be dreaming up RAK opportunities and projects throughout the year for our ministry to plug in to. Sign up for these teams will begin in September 2009 with an orientation and organizing time following a few weeks later.
