Elevate for Students
We are excited about what God is going to do at Elevate this year. We'll be headed out of town to Brookhaven Retreat Center in Hawkins, TX for a weekend committed to helping us better understand God's word and how we can apply it to our lives. Our theme for this year is "Rooted", spinning from the teaching of Psalm 119:11 that we are hide God's word deep in our hearts.
Ryan Dalgleish will be challenging us from scripture for the weekend. Ryan is a featured speaker to students throughout Texas, a pastor and author.
I Am's Call will be leading us in worship. Set against the rustic and warm setting of Brookhaven (and overlooking the lake from the worship space) Alex and the guys will be drawing us to glorify Christ through inspiring and insightful worship.
Trained and qualified small group leaders are being recruited to help us facilitate small group times throughout the weekend. Most of these godly leaders are from Texas and many live in DFW.
For parents, we are offering a special weekend emphasis for you as well. Toby Freyou, Children's Pastor and speaker, will be leading times of encouragement for you. While your student is away with us, we want to offer a time of refueling and refreshing for you as a parent. Toby has raised three teenagers and continues to serve in a local DFW church. His insights from scripture and life will make you laugh and think about the joy and challenges of raising a teenager today.
As you can see, Elevate is going to be a weekend packed with opportunities to meet with God and grow in our faith. Be looking after the first of the year for even more unique opportunities to prepare for Elevate. Mark your calendar for February 19-21, we are asking God to move in an incredible way at Elevate this year and you don't want to miss it!
What TO bring to Elevate 2010:
· Bible/pen (*Notebook will be provided)
· Pillow
· Sleeping bag/Sheets & a Blanket
· Towels
· Toiletries
· Warm Clothing
· Recreation Clothes/Shoes
What NOT to bring to Elevate 2010:
· Negative attitude
· Bathing suit
· Video games
· Clothing with questionable sayings, slogans, etc.
· Tobacco, drugs, alcohol or weapons
· Fireworks/Water balloons
· No profanity or fighting
